Hello and welcome to Out of Season Ministries, a non-profit corporation.
Our mission is about love. We love God and our focus is to restore hope and provide opportunities for the most vulnerable children, teens, and young adults in Polk County, MO. We demonstrate our love and live out our faith by extending care to others. Paul tells us in Romans 12:9-13, 9 Love is to be sincere and active [the real thing—without guile and hypocrisy]. Hate what is evil [detest all ungodliness, do not tolerate wickedness]; hold on tightly to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another with [authentic] brotherly affection [as members of one family], give preference to one another in honor; 11 never lagging behind in diligence; aglow in the Spirit, enthusiastically serving the Lord; 12 constantly rejoicing in hope [because of our confidence in Christ], steadfast and patient in distress, devoted to prayer [continually seeking wisdom, guidance, and strength], 13 contributing to the needs of God’s people, pursuing [the practice of] hospitality.
We partner with the local church to put Christian faith into action through service to the community; serving people of all races, ethnicities, creeds, gender, and orientation. without ulterior motive. We simply aspire to be like our Savior, Jesus Christ, in who we are and what we do. Only [be sure to] lead your lives in a manner [that will be] worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I do come and see you or remain absent, I will hear about you that you are standing firm in one spirit [and one purpose], with one [a]mind striving side by side [as if in combat] for the faith of the gospel. Philippians 1:27
Out of Season Ministries and its partner churches are dedicated to putting this mission into action by providing a full range of charitable, human service, educational, religious, and community development activities. These activities help people realize their God-given potential as uniquely gifted individuals in their family, community, and relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ.
Jesus tells us in John 12:26, If anyone serves Me, he must [continue to faithfully] follow Me [without hesitation, holding steadfastly to Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me]; and wherever I am [in heaven’s glory], there will My servant be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.
Our Statement of Faith
Out of Season Ministries is a Christian non-profit organization. And as such the individuals who are associated with us affirm and place our trust in the central Christian belief that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Lord.
Furthermore, we recognize that we are called by God to be His representatives and His presence in the world. In our organizational practices and community services we incorporate Christian principles and Biblical standards. In both our professional and personal lives, we seek to honor God by living according to the standards as outlined in the Bible for Christian character and moral conduct. Only fear the Lord [with awe and profound reverence] and serve Him faithfully with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you. 1 Samuel 12:24
